Lamium – Purple Dragon

Lamium – Purple Dragon

Groundcover Smothered in Purple Flowers Lamium Purple Dragon, Lamium maculatum ‘Purple Dragon’ (PP#15,890), is a newer selection which produces large deep purple snapdragon-like flowers. The deep purple flowers are arranged in large dense terminal spikes that jump right out of their bright silvery foliage. Absolutely the heaviest flowering lamium we have ever seen! Lamium ‘Purple Dragon’ proves to be a very attractive ground cover. Lamium prefers a semi-shady dry area with well-drained soil, but will tolerate a wide range of soils and moisture. It is considered to be more drought tolerant than other lamiums. Use lamium in hanging baskets, in mixed containers, trailing over walls or as an edging, but spread must be controlled. ‘Purple Dragon’ looks great among hostas, ferns, lungworts bulbs and wildflowers. It nicely disguises dying bulb foliage and makes an excellent weed-smothering ground cover. *Profusion of Deep Purple Flowers *Silvery Foliage *Part Shade and Moist Soil
